Swiming with the Gods, Enipeas waterfall

Today I shall take you on a new trip. I know it’s been a while since last time, so I hope you enjoy it.

We will go to see a very beautiful place, traveling in the land of ancient gods. Greece is our destination, near Litochoro, where we will follow the gods to their mountain. We won’t hike all the way to their home on peak Mytikas; instead, we will visit some beautiful waterfalls. They are named after Enipeas, a young man who stirred some strife among the gods. His beauty made him desired by all the goddesses from Olympus. Unfortunately, his heart was won by the beautiful Aphrodite. Not all gods can handle being rejected by mortals, so Hera, wounded by his love for Aphrodite, decided to transform the handsome man into a river. As a river, he was so strong that only Zeus could defeat him in battle. The river had other women who fell in love with him, including a beautiful girl named Tyro, the daughter of Salmoneus and Alcidice. However, Poseidon, the god of the sea, was also in love with Tyro, so he decided to take on Enipeas’s form and pretend to be him. From their union, two children were born and left by the river.

But now, let’s return to our times. We will enjoy the freshness of the cold water, and you can also swim in the water that flows from the waterfall. The view is as beautiful as the young man who stirred the love of the goddesses. If you have more courage, you can jump from the foot of the waterfall into the refreshing water. On a summer day, a swim here can make you feel like you are with the gods.
